Reference service is available to all patrons of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Libraries.
During the academic term, a librarian is regularly scheduled and available to answer questions during the following days and times:
Lansing Campus Reference Hours
Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: Noon - 6 p.m.
Tampa Campus Reference Hours
Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: Noon - 6 p.m.

Reference Services include:
- Responding to questions and requests for information that require "short answers."
- Confirming whether the library owns a particular title.
- Answering questions that require brief facts, statistics, addresses, etc.
- Providing advice on resources to consult for a project or paper.
- Suggesting research techniques using various resources.
- Assisting Cooley faculty and students with electronic resource passwords.
Attorney’s requests for specific documents (you must have the citation or title) are handled through our Document Delivery Service.
You can send your requests or questions by email here. Requests are reviewed during regular reference hours. Most questions are answered within 24 hours, excluding weekends, holidays, and term breaks.
